Water Tower Farm offers two distinct breeding services.  The first is our primary service of offering the breeding public at-stud Tennessee Walking Horse stallions.  Our second service is our public breeding facility designed to meet the needs of owners who would like to make use of the farm's breeding facilities and personnel to assist them in their breeding endeavors.

Tennessee Walking Horses At Stud

Our breeding philosophy is simple; stand stallions that are greatly gentle-tempered, that will contribute to the greater good of the breed that possess historic desirable qualities.  We're not a big barn and only stand two stallions, but those stallions possess qualities that we would rightly expect of ambassadors of the breed.

AN OFFICER AND A GENTLEMAN  “Mirror, mirror on the wall, who’s the prettiest of them all?  Why me of course!”  Sir, a 6 year-old, 15.1 hand, registered TWH is dappled grey with a faint star.  His color is maturing to a dominant gray as he further ages.  He is intelligent, mannered and sociable, consistent with his name.  He’s currently turned out on pasture with a group of geldings and has another stallion in an adjoining pasture.  While we would never turn out two stallions in the same field, Sir is not distracted nor misbehaved having a stallion as an across-the-fence neighbor.  He is well under saddle but is not used as a show or trail horse due to a pasture injury.

Sir possesses an impressive gene pool.  Sir’s sire, Another Grey John, was a popular show horse and sired the WGC The Touch.  Another Grey John’s sire, Grey John, was sired by Prides John Grey (who in turn, was sired by Pride of Midnight) crossed with a daughter WGC Midnight Sun.  Grey John’s dam was a daughter of the WGC Shades of Carbon G.L./GLL’s Carbon Copy.  Sir’s dam’s sire was the WGC Delight of Pride (WGC’s Midnight Sun/Delight D. lineage), and her dam was WGC Ebony’s Senator (by WGC Ebony Masterpiece) daughter who came from a WGC Merry Go Boy mare.

The 2009 breeding season is Sir’s first.  We can’t tell you what he will sire, but just look at his color, presence and gene pool and imagine the possibilities.  $500 stud fee, live cover or shipped semen.

GENIUS BOYS T.L.  “You can call me Tony, the Italian stallion, and I can make you an offer you can’t refuse.  I’m both handsome and athletic."  Tony is a 9 year-old, 15.1 hand, registered, black TWH with a star and a snip.  Although pastured alone, he socializes with geldings and another stallion over a common fence line.  He’s well broke to saddle, has been ridden extensively and will do anything you ask of him.  We use him in TWH riding lessons.  He’s been to Equine Affaire several times as a breed ambassador.  Tony’s paternal grandsire was the popular Pride’s Genius, progenitor to over 700 foals and revered for his ability to sire naturally gaited offspring.  To see Tony ridden is to see the natural gaits of his heritage.  Tony’s dam’s pedigree further strengthens his Midnight Sun heritage thru the WGC’s sires Ebony Masterpiece and Midnight Sun himself.

Tony’s previous owner had only done some limited breeding, primarily to strengthen the Pride’s Genius bloodline in his own herd.  Under our ownership, Tony is now being offered for public breeding.  The get he has put on the ground have been naturally gaited.  He has conformation, athleticism, attitude and gait that are great foundations for offspring.  $500 stud fee, live cover or shipped semen.

Public Breeding Services

We offer the use of our facilities, personnel and our farm's animal reproductive veterinarian specialist to offer the small herd farm owner mare, of any breed artificial insemination (AI) from an owner sourced stallion semen and to offer local stallion owners, of any breed, semen collection and shipping services.

Mare Station  - This service is marketed to the novice mare owner or the single mare owner, of any breed, who doesn't want to be limited to the selection of a local stud.  Our service allows a mare owner to select a stallion of their choice any where in the country and breed, even if the mare owner doesn't have the experience or time to attend to the rigors of providing optimal local AI breeding at their own facility/barn.  We offer mare owners our farm's facilities and services to provide safe, professional and comprehensive AI breeding.  Utilizing our personnel, as well as the professional services of the farm's equine reproductive specialist veterinarian, we will provide 24/7 services to:

- Transport your mare to/from our farm from/to most areas in New England.

 - Monitor your mare's heat cycle and perform ultra-sound to determine the optimal insemination period.

- Make all the logistical arrangements with the stallion's owner for the collection and transport of shipped cooled semen.

 - Assess sperm motility and performed time, multiple inseminations covering the mare's most fertile time periods, including   any necessary hormone administration.

- Perform post-insemination follow-up.

- Provide comfortable mare care while your house is at our facility.

AI mare breeding doesn't have to complicate your life.

Stallion Station - This service allows a stallion owner who wishes to expand his stallion's breeding potential, from what the owner can accomplish with live cover only, to the market of what can be obtained with AI and shipped cooled semen.  The service allows a stallion owner to offer the horse at-stud anywhere in the United Sates but without the onsite facilities or the onsite personnel for semen collection and processing.  Using our facilities and personnel we can provide 24/7 services to:

-Act as the intermediary between you and the mare owner to ensure semen is collected and shipped when requested by the customer.

- Provide a teasing mare.

- Collect from your stallion.

-Test the semen for motility and process the semen as live cooled semen ready for transport in the farm's shipping containers.

- Make all the arrangements for semen transport from our farm to your customer.

- All you have to do is arrange transport of your stallion to/from our farm and bill your clients.

Make the most of your stallion's breeding season.
